This is a seminar-participation class in which students are the discussion group leaders. This 2-year course covers 60 assigned topics. With the guidance of a faculty mentor, students will review the pertinent literature on assigned topics, develop a seminar outline and objectives, and lead group discussions of the literature. Emphasis will be placed on the development of the skills necessary for the critical analysis of the periodontal and associated biomedical literature. (OROFAC SCI)

Practical course in operating room anesthesia. Instruction in hospital administration, physical and preanesthesia evaluation of the patient, monitoring of vital signs, administration of intravenous psychosedation, general anesthesia, and handling of resultant medical emergencies.
